As a registered 501(c)3 non-profit charity, we rely on donations to do our important, life-saving work.

We are a 100% volunteer organization. None of us gets paid to do the work we do around the clock. No obstant això, we do have expenses. The smaller expenses are operational – paying for our website, for example. Però our biggest expense is providing assistance to those who can’t afford to keep their dogs alive. Can you imagine the following scenario?
- There is something wrong with your dog but you don’t know what it is.
- You’ve spent hundreds of dollars (or more) trying to get answers & you still don’t know what’s wrong.
- Your vet says they think your dog might have Addison’s disease.
- What in the world is Addison’s disease? You’ve never heard of that.
- The vet tells you it will cost hundreds of dollars more to test for it. The bill is getting higher and higher, you’ve got so many other bills to worry about, and your stress level is through the roof.
- While you’ve been desperately trying to figure out what is wrong with the dog you love more than words, he or she is getting sicker & sicker.
- In fact, at this point, they are in an Addisonian crisis and are so sick that they will need several days of hospitalization, which costs anywhere from $1,000 to $1,500 per day (sometimes more).
- You simply can’t afford this. Your credit cards are maxed out and you can’t get approved for Care Credit (o qualsevol altra forma de crèdit per a l'atenció veterinària).
- El vostre gos encara és jove i se us diu que un cop superi la crisi d'Addison i rebin la medicació adequada per a tota la vida, poden viure molt de temps, vides completament normals fent tot el que els gossos els agrada fer.
- Quin lligam més insoportable estar-hi. Però algunes d'aquestes persones mantenen l'esperança & cerqueu frenèticament a Internet per veure si hi ha alguna organització que us pugui ajudar.
- És llavors quan ens troben & aquí és on entres. Si podem recaptar diners, literalment podem salvar vides i estalviar a les famílies el dolor de perdre els seus estimats gossos.

Aquest escenari és tan fidel a la vida que l'hem vist jugar una i altra vegada. Every donation helps to save the lives of dogs who don’t need to die – dogs who can go on to live the best lives, being loved every minute.
We can’t tell you how many times we’ve been on the phone with people who find us, realize help is available, & dissolve into tears – literally in tears – saying they can’t believe complete strangers are willing to help them. Of course we are. We love dogs and we are all about showing kindness, estimar, and compassion to others, letting them know that in a world which often seems fractured, there is so much love out there. With your help, we can save dogs, spread loving kindness, & save adults & children from unnecessary pain, sadness, & dolor.

Another scenario is that individuals & families find themselves in difficult financial circumstances despite their best efforts to keep afloat financially. They would rather feed their dogs than themselves but affording the monthly medication and costs of veterinary care related to Addison’s is now beyond their means. Often, people are forced to consider rehoming their dogs (or worse) when this happens. Again, this is where you come to the rescue. Your donations help us to provide either temporary or ongoing assistance to those who truly need it to provide the medication and care their dogs need to stay in their own homes with the families who love them best.
